About CHN
CHN was founded in 2004 in order to serve the Corbett Heights Neighborhood. See the map on the Membership page to see our physical boundaries. Our Board of Directors is elected annually by paid members, and we partner with the San Francisco Parks Alliance to ensure financial transparency and accountability.

What have we done recently? Just in the past few years:
- CHN significantly improved Ord Triangle Park at 17th.
- CHN substantially improved the park at Merritt/Danvers/Market by removing dead plants and adding six tons of gravel to the pathways. In November of 2022 we added a number of new drought resistant plants. The entire project cost thousands of dollars, but the result is a beautiful neighborhood park.
- CHN has spent thousands of dollars to prune trees, remove trash, and otherwise help to maintain the “Corbett Slope Community Park” across from Mars Street at Corbett. And, after much advocacy and support from our Supervisor, we persuaded the City to complete the fence on the Market Street side.
- At great expense but with the support of neighbors, we re-established and improved “Al’s Park” adjacent to 369 Corbett, slightly below Clayton.
- We have held community meetings with prominent speakers such as, just before the pandemic, with all candidates for district attorney, the head of the health deparment, our district supervisor, local educators, and the president of the Castro Merchants, and more.
- CHN implored our supervisor, indeed all supervisors, to do more to tackle the street crisis city-wide and increasingly in our general neighborhood.
- We work with other neighborhood groups on issues of common concern.
- We maintain working relationships with city agencies such as San Francisco Park Department Park Station, our supervisor, and Department of Public Works, among others.
